Curren began his studies in aerospace engineering, where he discovered a love for teaching after creating and leading a class called Engineering Rockets. In the course, he guided students in designing and launching 3D-printed and solid-motor rockets that soared over a thousand feet. Inspired to make STEM education more hands-on and accessible, Curren shifted his focus to environmental curriculum development and education research. At the UCLA Lab School, he designed environmental science lessons, supported elementary classrooms, and contributed to research on how students learn best, with the goal of making lessons more inclusive and engaging. This fall, Curren is excited to pursue a career in high school career counseling. In addition to this new role, he will also coach volleyball and teach cooking and gardening to elementary students.
