Eleni Morfoulia
While at the University of Thessaly, Eleni focused on the medicinal properties of specific foods and plants and worked on researching and developing new food products in the laboratory. She completed her bachelor’s internship at Wageningen University through the Erasmus exchange program, where she also pursued her master’s studies. At Wageningen, she explored food politics and sustainable food systems while learning to combine artistic methods with social and environmental justice practices. Eleni has participated in youth exchanges in Turkey, Sicily, and Romania, where she learned non-formal education methods and team-building activities focused on media literacy, youth skills development, and sustainability. She has also volunteered in eco-villages in Greece and Romania, gaining hands-on skills such as natural building, while also practicing communal living and collective care. She is currently conducting her fieldwork in Athens, researching the role of urban vegetable gardens through the lens of foodscapes and the right to the city. Eleni is fluent in Greek and proficient in English.
