While at Duke University, Emilio focused on political philosophy, study abroad programs, service organizations, and spending time outdoors. He was also a Robertson Scholar, a merit scholarship program shared between Duke University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, aimed at developing transformational leaders. Emilio spent his junior year abroad in Madrid and Nairobi, and he also spent 6 weeks in Geneva working for the Aga Khan Foundation. Emilio is currently taking a gap year before starting as a consultant in his hometown of Washington, DC. This fall, he plans to backpack throughout East Asia and Oceania, which he is extremely excited about. Emilio is a dual-citizen of the USA and Switzerland, speaks English and Spanish fluently, and is proficient in French.
