While at UDLA, Luis focused on photography and immersed himself in learning as many styles and techniques as possible. He spent two months backpacking through Europe, documenting his journey through photography while connecting with people and exploring the diverse cultures and histories of each place he visited. Presently, Luis works as an expedition photographer and guide aboard expedition cruises around the world, leading trips in the Galapagos Islands, South America, Iceland, Svalbard, and the Antarctic continent. He regularly conducts photography workshops in these remote environments, using his images to inspire awareness and protection of wildlife and fragile ecosystems. Luis is fluent in Spanish, proficient in English, knows sign language, and is currently learning German. This fall, he will return to the Galapagos Islands to lead another photography workshop. When not traveling, he enjoys playing music, spending time in nature, slacklining, and gaming with friends.
