While at Washington University in St. Louis, Samantha focused on the intersections of brain science, language, and child development, with a particular interest in pediatric health and disability advocacy. She spent a semester studying abroad in Paris, where she took courses at the Sorbonne and the Middlebury School in France, fully immersing herself in French academic life and culture. After graduation, Samantha worked in a pediatric emergency department, where she supported children in acute distress and gained firsthand experience in compassionate, fast-paced care. She also led a campus initiative providing inclusive childcare for children with autism and served as a peer educator in introductory chemistry and biology courses, mentoring younger students through challenging material. Samantha continues to work in an emergency department at a children’s hospital, helping young patients and their families navigate the healthcare system with care and clarity. She is fluent in French and passionate about creating safe, empowering spaces for young people to learn and grow. This fall, Samantha will apply to medical school with the goal of becoming a pediatric emergency medicine physician.
