Zach Ashenfarb
While at Georgetown University, Zach focused on the neuroscience of language, sang bass in an a capella group called Superfood, and studied abroad in Madrid, Spain. After graduation, he earned a master’s degree in Bilingual Education and now works as a History, Biology, and Algebra II teacher at a high school for English learners in Manhattan. One of Zach’s proudest accomplishments has been starting a school-based thrift shop and coffeehouse for immigrant families across New York City. He is fluent in Spanish and proficient in Portuguese. This fall, Zach will return to the classroom as both a teacher and tutor. He has led Putney’s Middle School Service and High School Exploration programs in Ecuador & the Galápagos and Cuba.
