Becca Shumlin, Co-Director
Becca is a third-generation Co-Director of Putney Student Travel, alongside her sister Liv. As an undergraduate at Eugene Lang College in New York City, Becca studied nonfiction writing. As a high school student, she participated in Putney’s academic program in France. She has led Putney programs in Europe, and directed Putney’s Pre-College and Oxford Academia programs in the U.S. and abroad. Before returning to Vermont to lead Putney, she served as Policy Advisor for Technology & Innovation to the Governor of New York, where she advanced the State’s policy portfolio at the intersection of tech and education, and championed historic investments to make technology education more equitable and accessible for all students across New York. In her free time, Becca is an avid gardener who delights in cultivating and studying rare and unusual plants, and is a member of the American Begonia Society.
