While at the University of Illinois, Lauren focused on Environmental Studies and GIS and spent time in Greece learning about how sustainability and geographical location intertwine. Upon graduating with a double major from UIUC, she moved to Spain to teach English and travel. Lauren has spent over seven years living in Spain and has completed her master’s degree in International Education and Bilingualism from Camilo José Cela University in Madrid. She has spent extensive time in Austria as a camp director for an English summer camp for Austrian students, as well as volunteering abroad in Italy and Portugal. Lauren currently works as an English teacher and tour director in Spain. This fall, she will continue to teach and build her career in travel and education, leading groups of middle and high school American students on educational and athletic tours in Spain. Fluent in Spanish, Lauren has previously led Putney’s Middle School Language program in Spain and Putney’s High School Exploration program in Italy & Greece.
