 Language Valencia & the Pyrenees students gain hands-on cultural experiences, from cooking traditional paella to discovering the wonders of science and marine life in Valencia.

In Valencia, everyone had the opportunity to take a paella class and choose between a vegetarian, seafood, or Valenciana (chicken and rabbit) paella.

On the first day, the vegetarian and seafood groups made their paellas by chopping the onions, tomatoes, and cuttlefish, then frying them with spices like paprika and saffron before adding rice and letting everything cook. Meanwhile, everyone else visited the Oceanogràfic Valencia aquarium, where they saw sharks, penguins, whales, crocodiles, sea lions, and even a dolphin show.

The next day, our schedule flipped, and the Valenciana group got to cook their paella, while some of the others went to the aquarium. We loved the candy store that was attached! After, we also had the opportunity to visit the Museo de las Ciencias Príncipe Felipe, where we could engage with interactive science exhibits.
