While at the University of São Paulo, Cayo participated in an exchange program at the Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond where he also taught Portuguese and Brazilian Culture to a group of high school students during a summer course. After that, he joined a group of international teachers accompanying students from Austria to a series of experiences in England. Before going back to Brazil, he explored the old continent strolling through the streets of Paris and Berlin and was mesmerized by the history of cities like Prague and Vienna. Cayo earned a master’s degree in social history focusing on Brazilian Cinema and he has worked with international schools. He previously accompanied groups of students to Canada, New York City, Hawaii, and Bolivia, and he was the in-country director for the successful 2022 Middle School Service Costa Rica program. Cayo speaks English and Portuguese fluently and has an intermediate level of Spanish. He loves reading, watching movies, camping, traveling, and incorporating his passions into his work.
