Coming from the culturally rich and diverse Brazil, Cayo brings his passion for education and travel to Putney Student Travel, where he directed the Middle School Service Costa Rica program in 2022, 2023, and 2025. Currently based in Kuwait, he teaches World History at an American international school, building on two decades of experience as a humanities and project educator. He holds a master’s degree in social history from the University of São Paulo and taught Portuguese and Brazilian culture during an exchange program at Virginia Commonwealth University. Cayo has also led student programs in Canada, New York City, Hawai’i, and Bolivia, and explored the complex histories and landscapes of Europe, Vietnam, and the Middle East. Fluent in English and Portuguese, with a proficient level of Spanish, he thrives in cross-cultural settings. An avid reader, runner, and traveler, Cayo infuses his passions into every program he leads, creating meaningful and memorable experiences.
