Places to Go in 2024

The New York Times recently published their 52 Places to Go in 2024 article. Many of these destinations align with our program itineraries! Dive in to discover the enriching experiences awaiting our students in these handpicked places.

Paris, France

The New York Times selected Paris, France as a top destination in 2024. Students on our high school and middle school Language France programs will have the opportunity to explore iconic landmarks like the Musée d’Orsay and the restored Notre-Dame Cathedral, both highlighted in the article. Additionally, our Paris Academia program immerses participants in the academic environment of the University of Paris.

Geneva, Switzerland

Students on our Career Switzerland program embark on a journey to the European Organization for Nuclear Research, known as CERN, where they explore its famed 17-mile-long particle accelerator and the recently revamped Science Gateway. The article mentions engaging activities there such as quantum karaoke, quantum air hockey, and miniature magnetic accelerators. On our Career Switzerland program, students also indulge in Swiss culture through a hands-on chocolate making workshop!

Morocco

For almost a decade, we have been collaborating with people and communities in the High Atlas Mountains for our Putney programs in Morocco. Putney students live in a host community where they work in collaboration with local people, immerse themselves in the culture, and return home with newfound understandings and perspectives. We are relieved to report that our local partners are safe after the earthquakes last year. They have put together a fundraising effort that we are sharing and supporting. Maui, Hawai’i

On our Service Hawai’i program, Putney students will work alongside a local organization dedicated to the stewardship and preservation of the sacred Olowalu Valley. They will support grassroots efforts to build back and contribute to the community in the wake of devastating wildfires in Lahaina.

Quito, Ecuador

On our Language Ecuador & the Galápagos program, students will have the opportunity to visit Quito, the capital of Ecuador, where they’ll explore the historic Old City, acclaimed by The New York Times, while practicing their language skills and gaining insights into Ecuadorian life.

Dresden, Germany

Dresden, Germany, is a must-visit location with historical and cultural significance. Students on our Career Germany & Sweden program will experience the baroque urban landscape of Dresden’s Altstadt, rebuilt with magnificent spires, towers, and domes after WWII bombings. Putney students will also visit Volkswagen’s Transparent Factory, which is dedicated to the production of electric vehicles.
