Ed began traveling to Japan from his home in Portland, Oregon, when just 11 years old and it’s safe to say he is still captivated by Japan today. Ed has spent more than eight years living and teaching English in Japan to a wide range of ages in a variety of settings. Most recently, he relocated to Vermont from the outskirts of Nagoya, where he taught preschoolers to be bilingual, and helped junior high students prepare for exams. After a year at the Brattleboro Retreat helping in-patient teens with academics as a tutor, school liaison, and teacher, Ed was delighted to find somewhere nearby where he could put his years of Japan-related experience to work building exceptional experiences for students as a program director at Putney.
