While at Rhodes College, Blake received scholarships to study Spanish in Ecuador and later to spend a summer in Santiago, Chile, working for the United States Department of Commerce. He also participated in Track and Field, leaving Rhodes College as the all-time record holder in the triple jump event. After completing his undergraduate degree, he earned his MBA and spent those summers leading Putney service programs in Costa Rica and Ecuador. After college, Blake moved to San Francisco to work in tech and, after a few years, relocated to Denver, Colorado, to continue similar work in the data center industry. Currently, Blake and his fiancée are taking some time off to travel before and after their April 2026 wedding. So far, they have walked the Camino de Santiago in Spain, hiked the eight-day “O” trek in Torres del Paine National Park in Chile, studied Portuguese in Brazil, and visited a dozen more countries. Blake is fluent in Spanish and is still working on his Portuguese. This fall, he will be settling back home in Denver, where he looks forward to getting back to work and back on skis to enjoy the Colorado mountains.
