While at Lewis & Clark College, Jenny focused on modeling equations for robotic spiders. After her undergraduate degree, she became a white water raft guide in the Pacific Northwest as well as in Australia. She returned to the U.S. and spent a year working as a rock climbing instructor and backpacking guide in the Eastern Sierra Nevada. Jenny then received her master’s in education, where she specialized in mathematical self-efficacy. She has since taught mathematics in Morocco, the Emirates, and Brazil. She has started a cycling community in every country she has lived in and has enjoyed seeing new places from the seat of her two-wheeled ride. She currently works as a middle school math teacher in the Virgin Islands. Jenny is fluent in English and proficient in Spanish, Arabic, and Portuguese, and is learning Korean. This fall, she looks forward to continuing to inspire wonder for mathematics with her middle schoolers.
