Mallory is a flight test engineer, where she spends half of her year deployed to international locations to work with customers flying autonomous planes. She studied physics and mathematics at Davidson College, where she completed multiple engineering independent studies, including the construction of a hydrogen-powered go-kart and a full-scale off-grid tiny house. She also completed a research practicum at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia, focused on designing trajectories to Mars. She went on to earn a Master of Science from Georgia Tech, where she worked on programming six-axis robots for architectural fabrication. Before her current job, Mallory worked for six years as a whitewater raft guide, held positions in multiple makerspaces, and served as a teaching assistant. She enjoys outdoor sports—especially canyoning and caving—and loves playing basketball. Mallory has previously led Putney Career programs in Germany & Sweden and on the MIT campus.
