After finishing his undergraduate degree at Binghamton University, Raimi joined the Teach for America (TFA) program in Hawai’i, where he taught sixth-grade math and science for two years. In between school years, he spent two months during the summer in Ramallah, West Bank, teaching writing to English language learners. Upon completing his two-year TFA teaching commitment, Raimi attended graduate school at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His graduate studies focused on the impact of family and community engagement on student achievement. Upon obtaining his master’s degree, he went on to work for the district office of the New York City Department of Education. In this role, Raimi was in charge of managing a public-private partnership that supported schools, youth service organizations, and employers in creating learning opportunities for students to develop 21st-century skills, in preparation for postsecondary success. For over a decade, Raimi has combined his passion for youth and travel by leading students on educational travel programs both domestically and abroad. Since 2019, Raimi has led Putney programs in Thailand, Spain, and Hawai’i. Professionally, Raimi has spent the last five years working in philanthropy for a poverty-fighting foundation in New York City.
